PLANT BASED EATING

I eat a whole foods plant based low fat diet.  I believe this to be the optimum for health and the best for animal well being.  I also add in exercise, fresh air, sunshine, and sleeping well for a well rounded healthy lifestyle.

Eating meat, dairy and high amounts of fat (animal or plant fat) leads to health problems.  All kinds of them.  One can argue what the human CAN eat, or use to eat in the past, or all the different studies that have been done.  It doesn’t matter.  The plain truth is that a low fat whole foods plant based diet is the healthiest way to go long term, period.  A great way to verify this is by blood tests.  Eat any other way for 1-3 months, get a blood test.  Eat a whole foods plant based low fat diet for 1-3 months, and get tested again.  For most people, the comparison will show that the low fat whole foods plant based diet improves their blood tests.  Also, one might notice more energy and less medical problems.

I do not believe in berating people for eating in any way that they choose.  I came from disordered eating, and it took me time to change.  I am still working towards bettering myself in that area.  But also, facts are facts.  If you choose to eat animal products and/or dairy, then you will suffer the consequences over time and pay the price with your health.  Meat has the natural hormones from each animal that are not meant for our bodies.  On top of that, they inject antibiotics, growth hormones, etc. that are not good for us.  We are the only species to drink other species milk, and to drink milk after weaning.  Dairy milk is meant to grow a 85 lb calf into a 1200 lb cow in a matter of months.  Care to wonder why we have an obesity problem in the U.S.?

Also, animal suffering is a real thing.  Animals, all animals, even cows, chickens, turkeys, fish and others have families that they love, they feel pain when killed, and they feel fear when they know they are about to be killed.  The meat and dairy industry has poured lots of money into packaging and renaming meat (bacon instead of calling it pig parts) so that people will buy their products.  They discolor the meat so it looks more palatable.  Try eating meat without any plant based herbs or sauces on it.  Does it taste good?  The honest answer is no.  And that is because our tongues prefer fruits and vegetables.  Our eyes are attracted to the beautiful colors of fruits and vegetables.  Our hands are sized to hold most fruits and vegetables.  And for most mentally healthy people, killing does not feel good.   Slaughter house workers have the highest rates of suicide.  There is a reason we take our children apple and cherry picking and not to the slaughter house.  Dairy cows being separated from their babies, so their milk can be sold, cry for days for their babies.  Give these ideas a thought, and consider going plant based.

As far as the earth being better off if we eat plants vs animals, to be honest, I am not sure.  I have heard both sides of the argument, and I am not yet convinced either way.  I do not believe in the global warming movement.  It is a power grab by the globalists, and I am against it.  Do I believe the earth needs some cleaning up?  Yep!  Stop using so many insecticides, household poisons, and throwing garbage into our oceans.  We need to find a better solution than plastic.  But the whole world needs to do this, not just the U.S..

And lastly, how do I justify the eating and sacrificing of animals in the Bible?  The best I can understand it, is that animals were not mass produced, injected with chemicals, and eaten for every meal of the day in the times of our Lord.  And the sacrifices in the old testament show that animals were so important to our Lord, He seriously considered it a sacrifice to kill them.   It meant something.  After all, He created everyone of them so beautifully.  Shouldn’t we treasure them as much as possible too?

So, what do I like to eat?  I will share with you some things I like to eat.  But, you need to find your own path of what makes you feel your best.  We are all so different and have different needs within the plant based arena.
